Aaand I'm back...
Alright...I apologize for the seemingly years it's been since I've last updated this blog. It's been quite busy...which I believe is quite an understatement.
In the past 7 months since my last update I:
-spent six months in Kona, Hawaii with my class where we worked on our photos and stories and put together Sex + Money: A Global Search For Human Worth
-was home in Washington for a month for Christmas break, as well as part of our book tour that we are doing this quarter. (It's all explained on our website in the hyperlink above.)
-went to Arizona with my mom to visit my grandparents for a few days. My mom ran the Rock n Roll Half Marathon...and I learned how to drive my grandpa's Harley Davidson! It was definitely a new experience.
-stayed in Colorado with my friend Autumn from my class and did a few different 'events' for our book tour in Boulder and Denver. We spoke for a DTS' prayer and intercession hour one morning, showed them our videos, shared our book, and gave them different topics to intercede for in smaller groups. It went really well and was really well received! We also had a photo exhibition at the University of Colorado: Boulder campus...which did not go so well as planned. We were booked on the wrong night and ended up crashing a very full classroom...so we took over another then-empty classroom...only to be kicked out of that one by 120 other students. We finally found a tiny room down the hall but it was pretty much over by then. However, we did sell a few books and a lot of people had questions about what we were doing, so it was a bit encouraging. "Mama said there'll be days like this...there'll be days like this, my mama said." :P
And currently I am sitting in the Denver airport, waiting for my plane to take off. It was supposed to have done so about five minutes ago (10:55am) but has been delayed twice and won't be taking off until 12:20pm now. Sigh...the joys of traveling. I have to laugh at myself and Autumn though...after a full 12 months of traveling non-stop we are still walking on board with a small duffel or suitcase, plus another 'purse' the size of a weekend bag. I blame the books though. They take up more weight than you would first think. :P
Oh...I didn't say where it was taking off to. Well pretty much everyone knows I'm heading to New York City for a bit, as well as the rest of the East Coast over the next two months. And again...go to our Sex + Money website and click on the "Tour" link. There are blogs and updates and photos from each of the three teams (Scandinavia, Australia/New Zealand, and USA) that save all of us a lot of explaining. :)
My goal is to keep this thing updated a bit more often so keep checking back!
